Given the popularity of zombies today, pretty much every being both fictional and real has been given the undead treatment by now....and no exception has been made for those lovable little garden gnomes!
Launched in early 2011, out of Southern California, Chris and Jane's Place is the self professed home of the original zombie gnomes...and I'm inclined to believe them on that fact. They're certainly the most popular and well known makers of such treats, having been featured on FEARnet, ABC News, and in The Huffington Post!
Though an Etsy search will turn up a whole host of different artists who are nowadays making zombified gnome sculptures, artists Chris Stever and Jane DeRosa are the first and best to do it, and that's why Freddy in Space is very excited to be able to offer up to you one of their handmade creations, here on the blog this week!
Freddy in Space was recently contacted by Chris and Jane, and they generously offered him the opportunity to hand pick one of the rotten little gnomes from their collection, to give away to one of you guys. Actually, they originally offered him one for himself, for reviewing purposes, but he'd rather give you cool shit than give himself cool shit. You can thank him for that later!
The infected gnome he hand selected, for you to win? He goes by the name 'Patient Zero', and he measures 6" tall. Hand painted and hand cast, Patient Zero, like all of Chris and Jane's friends, is cast in cement and coated in an all purpose outdoor weather sealer, ensuring that exposure to the elements will leave him no more tattered and decayed than he already is!
Over in Chris and Jane's shop, Patient Zero sells for $29.99, but right here, right now on Freddy In Space, you have the chance to get him ABSOLUTELY FREE!!
How do you go about doing that? Well, it's actually quite simple. Head over to Chris and Jane's Place, pick out your favorite of their ghoulish gnomes (other than Patient Zero), and then come on back to Freddy in Space and leave a comment with your e-mail address, and the name of your favorite gnome. Next, he wants you to walk on a bed of hot coals, and then you'll be all entered to win!
OK, so you don't have to do that last part, but the commenting is necessary in order to get your entry in. And be sure to get that comment to me before the end of the night next Friday, July 26th!
Chris and Jane's zombie gnomes can be purchased either through their official website or over on Etsy, and each purchase includes free shipping. You'll find a slew of different gnomes in their collection, in varying sizes and states of decay, and you can even purchase unpainted versions of each of them, if you feel like getting your DIY on!
