Fans of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” will — at long last be able to take their unquenchable thirst for zombie-hunting to go. Because they’re releasing a mobile game. Take that Kim Kardashian! You’re not the only one makin’ moves in that space.
The trailer for the game — which you can also check out at “The Walking Dead” booth at Comic-Con International this week (#4237) — was released today by Next Games, and it all looks and feels quite human. “The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land” will immerse fans of the series in this post-apocalyptic nightmare of a walker-world where making the most human choices possible (in addition to, you know, solid survival strategy) will be what keeps you alive.
Aww shucks — humanity in a video game about the undead? What empathy! How exciting. It also seems reminiscent of Telltale Games’ approach to “Walking Dead” gaming, which ain’t a bad model to have: both “seasons” of their game have landed at the top of critics’ lists.
And that’s not even getting into the visuals for it, which are, truly, pretty incredible. Being locked up in Terminus never looked so impressive.
The mobile game gets its release on in October — the same time “The Walking Dead” returns to TV. Looks like no one will be leaving the house that day.
