BBC commissions 3-part zombie drama: In the Flesh

From new writer Dominic Mitchell, 3 x 90 minute episodes of a new zombie apocalypse drama are on their way to BBC Three

Destined for BBC Three, the home to the great majority of the Beeb’s sci-fi and fantasy content (well, since Outcasts died an unfortunate death on BBC One at any rate), In the Flesh will come from new writer Dominic Mitchell, who was discovered as part of a BBC Writersroom competition. The premise is as follows:
“[In the Flesh] begins after the Zombie Uprising has been quelled by the Human Volunteer Force and life is starting to return to normal. Any surviving zombies have been captured, medicated, held in an NHS holding facility in Norfolk and are being slowly re-integrated back into society, with the help of contact lenses and cover up mousse. The story follows teenager Kieran Walker and boldly goes where no zombie drama has gone before.”
Sounds like a light-hearted take on a much-seen genre based on that description, perhaps more Shaun of… than The Walking Dead? There's no news on broadcast dates or casting as yet, but we'll keep you posted.
