While most people would head for the hills if they knew zombies were heading to town, people in Lebanon like to show up early to make sure they get a good spot to witness the undead invasion.
The fifth annual Zombie Walk and Zombie Sock Hop will be held July 19 in downtown Lebanon. In the past four years, the annual event has raised more than $8,000 for COPE (Creating Opportunity For Personal Empowerment), which provides emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence, resources for those victims and community education. Along with raising more money each year, the number of monsters has grown each year from only 32 in the first year to more than 180 at the last event.
