SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG — A man was arrested for smashing several windows at a Williamsburg mini mall with a fire extinguisher, saying "the end of the world" had arrived, police and a witness said.
Jung Pryjma, 38, went into the Shops at 240 Kent Ave. around 1 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16 while the businesses were closed, police said.
Pryjma then smashed the windows of several stores, according to police and a criminal complaint. He was "highly intoxicated" and ranting about the "end of the world" and the "zombie apocalypse," police and a witness said.
Police did not say which store windows Pryjma, who is 5-foot-7, 170 pounds and wore his hair in a ponytail, targeted.
"He didn't seem mentally fit," said the witness, who called police after seeing Pryjma outside in 1-degree weather.
By Monday, all the stores had repaired their windows.
Pryjma was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, criminal trespass in the third degree and trespassing. His attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.
He was released on his own recognizance and will be back in court on April 16.
