Xena: Warrior Princess to take on The Evil Dead?

Lucy Lawless will reunite with her “Xena: Warrior Princess” co-star Bruce Campbell on Starz’s “Ash Vs. Evil Dead.”

According to Deadline, the she’ll play the mysterious Ruby, who’s myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. There’s a problem, though: She thinks Campbell’s Ash Williams is the cause.

The 10-episode series also marks a reunion for Lawless with Sam Raimi and (her husband) Rob Tapert, who executive produced “Spartacus” and “Xena.”

Set in the same world as the “Evil Dead” film franchise, the TV series catches up with Ash as he travels from town to town, trying to keep a low profile, deal with his demon-filled past and take on any new threats.

“Ash Vs. Evil Dead,” which begins filming in April in New Zealand, also stars Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago and Kelly Maxwell.
