Check out this new Rick Grimes 'Walking Dead' statue!
Rick Grimes is back to kicking ass on The Walking Dead TV show. But he never really stopped kicking ass in The Walking Dead comic book — even when the dude lost one of his hands. To commemorate the former sheriff’s deputy’s ass-kicking adventures, McFarlane Toys is releasing a new statue of the Rickster.
And not just any old statue, mind you, but a “limited-edition, highly-detailed, hand-crafted cold-cast resin statue”…which I believe is French for “super fancy.” How fancy? Well, it stands more than 14 inches tall on a “360 degree rotating rubble base.” So, like I said…FANCY!

Who could imagine such gore and madness?
Why,Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, who sketched out the original concept for the statue on a smartphone, which you can also see below along with the McFarlane Toys concept sketch they worked up off of Kirkman’s original vision. Check out all the images, and then you can go pick up the product for that special someone in your life who just can’t get enough zombie-brain-blasting goodness — meaning yourself. But see for yourself as we’ve got your first exclusive images of the product right here with a close up photo above and a photo of the full statue below. See Rick Grimes strangle one zombie, while blasting another with a kill shot right through the brains. Then there’s the unlucky chap with an axe sticking out of his head. That’ll leave a mark.

Rodney Barnes (The Boondocks, Everybody Hates Chris) is partnering with comics creator Alan Robert to develop an animated TV series based on Robert’s hit graphic novel Killogy. The horror/comedy from IDW Publishing tells the story of a group of murderers who inadvertently unleash an ancient voodoo curse upon New York. Barnes and Robert will serve as executive producers, with Barnes penning the screenplay for the pilot.
Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, Casino, The Sopranos), Marky Ramone (the Ramones) and Brea Grant (Heroes, Dexter), who all appeared as main characters in the novel will lend their voices to the show. Producers Chris White (My Super Psycho Sweet 16 franchise) and Jeff Mazzola (Descent) are also on board.
The Killogy graphic novel was recently licensed out to territories outside of the U.S. and will see a Brazilian release this summer from publisher NFL ZINE.

Telltale Games brings its hit zombie series 'TWD' to console owners
Developer Telltale Games is bringing its hit zombie series to next-gen gamers. The studio announced it will package both seasons of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Series as boxed copies for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2014.
The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Series – Season One debuted in April 2012 as a downloadable, episodic adventure. The five-part tale is set within The Walking Dead universe and finds Lee Everett, an escaped convict, braving undead hordes and human conflicts to reunite a girl named Clementine with her parents. The point-and-click franchise was praised by The Walking Dead fans and newcomers alike for its mature storytelling, innovative action sequences, and a plot that adapts to each player’s decisions and actions.
Season Two is currently in production and picks up months after the first. Beginning with Episode 1, All That Remains, it sees Clementine recovering from the devastating events in Season One and beginning a fresh journey across post-apocalyptic U.S. In his chat with PC Gamer, Season Two writer and season designer Mark Darin said bumping Clementine up to lead protagonist felt natural, noting, “You spent a lot of Season One playing as Lee bringing up Clementine in a way that you think is going to be best for her. Now, putting you in her shoes and seeing how that plays out, that’s something that really resonated with us.”
Darin also hinted that players’ decisions from the first season will bleed into Clementine’s new adventure, adding, “The choices you made in Season One and the things you did with Clementine color who she is in Season Two. That’s an important thing for us. We’re trying not to be super heavy-handed with it, but we’re really retaining that sense of feeling like the Clementine you helped raise in Season One, this is the logical progression of that arc that you went through with her.”
Episode 3 of Season 2, In Harms Way, was released in May 2014. The penultimate episode, Amid the Ruins, is slated for Q3 2014. Once complete, Season Two will also be released as a retail disc for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Authors Move Zombies To New Level
“The Walking Dead”, “Dawn of the Dead”, “Warm Bodies” and countless others are all rather well-known examples of just how popular zombies are in media right now. That said, much of the material surrounding zombies takes a similar approach: a state of chaos.Thomas P. Wise and his wife Nancy Wise both felt it was time for a change with a look at how far science has progressed toward real zombies. Their new book, “The Borealis Genome” (published by AuthorHouse) takes readers to a real “how and why “ beginning of a zombie epidemic.
Taking place in the not-so-distant future, “The Borealis Genome” uses science and the creation of a virus allowing users to upload any mind into the bodies of others. Readers are taken on a thrilling and terrifying journey following Tim, an employee with the Center for Disease Control, and his fiancĂ©, as they race to stop the virus before it spreads.
“We hope the readers are entertained by this great new zombie story and that it encourages them to take a long, hard look at the questions regarding the immortality of our minds and spirit,” Wise writes. “‘The Borealis Genome’ is designed to take the reader deep into a moral dilemma at a very personal level as it explores the path that science has taken society.”
