We’ve all seen enough movies and TV shows to know how to dodge zombies and stay out of their way. Dodging walkers, though, can only take you too far. You’ll need to feed to stay alive and The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse is designed to help you figure that crucial part out.
Written by Lauren Wilson, it’s a survivalist cookbook of sorts, designed to show folks everything they’ll need to know about food post-apocalypse. After all, there should only be so much abandoned convenience stores we can scavenge for packaged edible remnants of civilization; at some point, we’ll have to grow or catch food, as well as prepare them for human consumption.
The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse isn’t just a recipe book. Instead, it’s a 320-page guide book that covers the gamut of food-related issues that will come up when a zombie apocalypse does roll around, whether you’re holed up inside a safe location or on constant run trying to deliver a scientist to DC so he can end the infestation (who, by the way, just happens to have been lying all along). There are sections on foraging, setting traps for animals, eating stuff that's gross but edible, butchering game you catch, growing your own vegetables, canning food to preserve them, making a mud oven, building a fire, and, basically, every food-related concern you’re likely to encounter if a zombie virus does come down on humanity. Of course, there are detailed recipes, too, that show you how to make the most out of the scraps you manage to secure.
Available now, The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse is priced at $16.
