BLOOD RUSH COMING SOON TO A DVD NEAR YOU!
The upcoming indie zombie/affliction flick, BLOOD RUSH, is getting ever closer. BLOOD RUSH is directed by Evan Marlowe, produced and written by Kerry Finlayson, and stars Kerry Finlayson, Don Donnelley, Helen Soraya, and Christy Lee Hughes. From the press release:
SYNOPSIS
‘Blood Rush’ is a zombie/afflicted movie in the style of tongue-in-cheek 70's & 80's horror films like ‘Bad Taste,’ ‘Re-Animator’ and ‘Evil Dead’.
When a small town is overcome with a blood lust, the local Witch Doctor is thought to be the source. What they don’t know is that he has a different agenda… No one is safe from the virus turning everyone in town into flesh hungry monsters.

CREATION OF THE FILM

Directed by Evan Marlowe and Written/Produced by British filmmaker Kerry Finlayson, 'Blood Rush’ was shot on location in Los Angeles between August 2011 and March 2012.
Kerry Finlayson and Evan Marlowe are emerging filmmakers embarking on their first feature film project as a husband and wife team. Having previously worked productively together on two reality TV show pilots, they knew they could undertake any project as a close-knit team.
Kerry and Evan came up with the idea for a zombie/afflicted feature after their shared love for 70‟s and 80‟s horror films inspired them to make a short four- minute piece as a promotional trailer. They were so happy with the outcome that they decided to extend the promo into a feature length film.
Evan is a doctor by training, working as a physiatrist specializing in rehabilitation for spine and orthopaedic injuries. He has always had a passion for filmmaking, and started the Film Club at his high school in Calabasas at the mere age of 15.
Previously Evan had created various short films both live action and hand-made claymation. He then went on to author inspiring self-help books in the world of relationships and self-improvement for men (Seduction for Schmucks). From these books and his sideline company Man School (a school which turns Dudes into Men) spawned the reality television pilots ‘Street Kings’ and ‘Man School’.
‘Blood Rush’ is Evan‟s first feature length film as a director.
Kerry has produced numerous short films and features over the years, but this is the first film she was really able to put her "everything‟ into. She not only wrote and produced the film, but took on the task of playing the lead roles of Emma and Kara, a set of twins that gets separated due to the virus/curse spreading through the town.
Kerry also lent her years of experience in production into creating a "reality‟ on screen through her love of make-up effects, set design and costuming.
Kerry‟s credits include; Hooray For Holly Wood, Gone Fishing, It’s Only a Dream, Street Kings, Man School, 31 North 62 East to name a few.
Most people say working with a partner is often a bad combination, but Kerry and Evan have found that it has made their relationship stronger in both work and life.
