The 4th Annual Zombie Walk &  Zombie Prom 6/15/13 (Lebanon, MO)

Usually zombies stumbling through town would be reason to call in the National Guard, but Lebanon is actually welcoming them to roam the streets, as these zombies don't want brains, they want to raise money for a local domestic abuse shelter.
The fourth annual Zombie Walk and Zombie Prom will be held on June 15 to raise money for COPE. The organization provides emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence, resources for those victims and outreach to the community to educate about domestic violence prevention. COPE serves Laclede, Dallas, Texas and Wright counties.
Those interested in being a zombie for a day can collect donations from their friends, family and coworkers, get themselves "zombified" and head to downtown Lebanon on June 15. The walk will start at 5 p.m. in front of Switchblades Salon, 123 N. Madison Ave.
"It's an amazingly fun all-ages event. There's music and silliness and prizes and food. It's just a really fun group of people," said event organizer Phyllis Rogers.
Zombies of all shapes, sizes and types are welcome in the walk. If a potential zombie isn't confident in their zombie makeup skills, they can go to a makeup tent at Switchblades prior to the walk. For a $5 donation to COPE, volunteers from multiple local haunted houses will help transform people into the undead. The makeup tent will be set up from 1 to 5 p.m.
Following the Zombie Walk is the Zombie Prom. Ghouls will be given a chance to show that they can do more than shamble at the prom, which will start at 6 p.m. at Lebanon Elk's Lodge, 25111 Pecos Drive. Entry into Zombie Prom is a $7 donation. Food and drinks will be provided. Zombie attire, while encouraged, isn't required to participate. A zombie king and queen will be crowned during the prom.
A big draw of the Zombie Prom is the ton of prizes that are given away. For every dollar that a zombie walker collects, they will get one raffle ticket toward a prize of their choice. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 donations. Everything from local gift certificates to Branson show tickets will be up for raffle.

"We have prizes from Silver Dollar City, Six Flags, Kansas City Chiefs, a bunch of places in Branson and local places," Rogers said.
