Dead Before Dawn 3D

The new Canadian zombie movie Dead Before Dawn 3D, was titled in homage to Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn (1987). If it isn’t, then they ripped off ED2 and should be thrown into a basement in an old cabin and be made fun of by the resurrected departed.
The title (and a few other things) looks to be the only thing they have in common with Evil Dead 2, though. A bunch of college twits “accidentally” unleash an evil curse (hello, what curse isn’t?), which causes people to commit suicide and come back to life as Zemons (zombie demons). Press release: “Armed with a slew of homemade weapons and a Winnebago, the team races through the night, killing Zemons and fighting time, frantically searching for a way to reverse the curse.”

Even though it reads like a video game, if there’s any justice in the world, the team will fail and ultimately get eaten (with a side of screaming) by said Zemons.

Dead Before Dawn 3D is scheduled to premiere at Telefilm Canada’s Perspective Canada at Cannes 2012. If you’re not doing May 16 – 27, pop in and see this cinematic butcher shop. And hey, it’s described as a “coming-of-age adventure story in the vein of Shaun of the Dead (2004) meets The Goonies (1985) that puts a whole new spin on the comedy-horror genre.” We’ll see.
