Friday the 13th: Zombies will come out from Behind the Walls in Philly

The zombies are coming out from Behind the Walls for a Friday the 13th skate party at Dilworth Park's Rothman Institute Ice Rink.

Hosted by Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary, the Zombie Skate will feature spooky music by DJ Jen Blaze, TBTW giveaways, and zombies both on the ice and off.

"This is the first time we've had an event in the off season," said Amy Hollaman, Terror Behind the Walls creative director. "You'll be able to see characters you're familiar with from Terror, outside the walls."

Hollaman said the Rothman rink at Dilworth Park is new this year.

"They said they wanted to do something fun for Friday the 13th so they called up the zombie authorities of Philly," she said.

Hollaman said there will be a handful of zombies including prisoners, guards and, of course, nurses.

"The nurses recommend skating for your health, but said to be safe, hold hands with the kids and don't let anyone fall," she said.

The Zombie Skate is Feb. 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rothman Rink in Dilworth Park, located at Broad and Market streets on the west side of City Hall.
