PopCap's new Zombie photo avatar app - Zombiegram?

If you're bored with current online avatar, how about an undead one?
Seattle-based PopCap is working on an iPhone app that will let you create and customize a zombie avatar that's animated and can be played with on the phone.

It also lets people customize photos they take and share by adding zombies to the images, such as a zombie version of Instagram, crossed with Nintendo's "Nintendogs."
The app draws on PopCap's hit game "Plants vs. Zombies," the company's second biggest franchise behind "Bejeweled."
PopCap showed the app to reporters at a lunch in Seattle during the Casual Connect conference this week at Benaroya Hall. It's aiming to release the game in a few months, which will be in time to use it for electronic Christmas cards.
The app will be free or have a minimal price. Revenue will come from microtransactions -- such as buying new outfits or accessories for your zombie -- and from sponsorships. A zombie in the demo version was wearing a Dunkin' Donuts shirt, showing the potential for consumer brands to get involved.

PopCap spokesman Garth Chouteau joked that the app will be called "Plants vs. Zombies Presents Talking Zombatar." I think they should call it "Zombiegram."
