‘Ash vs Evil Dead’: Starz Unveils Teaser and Poster For Upcoming Series

Starz has released an early promotional teaser video and poster for their upcoming action-horror-comedy series Ash vs Evil Dead, which gives us a look at the logo the cable network’s marketing department has cooked up. You can check them both out here below.

The series, which is currently filming in New Zealand, continues the story of theEvil Dead trilogy with chainsaw-wielding blue collar hero Ash (Bruce Campbell) back to battle the forces of evil with a team of sidekicks to please the younger demographic. Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Jill Marie Jones co-star.

Lucy Lawless recently joined the cast as Ruby, “a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks,” according to Starz.

Sam Raimi, the director of the three original Evil Dead movies and a producer on the 2013 remake, will direct the first episode of Ash and serve as an executive producer on the 10-episode series alongside longtime collaborator Rob Tapert. Raimi also wrote the first episode with his brother Ivan Raimi, with whom he also wrote his films Darkman, Army of Darkness, Spider-Man 3, and Drag Me to Hell.

Ash vs Evil Dead is set to premiere on Starz sometime late this Fall.

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
