Monsters abound in the new Resident Evil CG movie!
We're merely one week away before the much-anticipated Resident Evil 6 game hits stores, but if you can't wait even that much longer for your genetically-engineered monster mayhem and global conspiracies, then you can relax.
The new CG-animated film, Resident Evil: Damnation, comes out on DVD and Blu-ray this very day and we're giving you the chance to win it! Set sometime in between RE 5 and RE 6, Damnation takes viewers on an action-packed, pulse-pounding ride into a desolate city full of things with big ol' teeth and a hearty appetite for human flesh. It's exactly what fans of the groundbreaking survival horror series have been frothing at the mouth for since we chased Uroboros across Africa three long years ago.
The film takes place in a small Eastern European country where there have been rumors of Bio-Organic Weapons (or BOWs) being used in the country's civil war. To confirm this, U.S. Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy, protagonist of a number of games in the series including Resident Evil 6, sneaks into hostile territory on a covert mission. Immediately after seeing that, yes, there are all kinds of nasty BOWs wreaking havoc on the streets and reporting his findings, he's ordered to retreat without any explanation. Desperate to learn the truth, Kennedy defies his mandate and takes it upon himself to stop the monsters and end the bloodshed. Since Leon doesn't look so good in a red cocktail dress, the story will also include fan-favorite character, the mysterious and alluring, Ada Wong.
Boasting a tighter story and more refined graphics than its predecessor,Resident Evil: Degeneration, Damnation expands the already-massiveResident Evil universe and offers a few solutions amid its many mysteries. Back during San Diego Comic-Con, we spoke with the film's director, Makoto Kamiya, who gave us some fantastic insight into the film's production, how it fits into the larger continuity and what he'd do if (when) the zombie apocalypse happens.
You can buy Resident Evil: Damnation at any fine retailer starting today, but if you'd like to win yourself a copy, go here right this minute. Enter to win one of three (3) copies of the film on DVD and get more chances to win by visiting our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages. Go ahead and enter; not winning won't be the end of the world, but you only have until midnight on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, so dawdling would be a bad idea.
