Desert Zombie: Last Stand
Ask someone to name the most popular zombie games, and he or she will mention the usual suspects, like Zombieville USA and Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies. Desert Zombie: Last Stand won't make the cut, largely because it didn't receive an overwhelming amount of publicity. That's a shame, since it's among the best zombie games for iPhone and iPad.
 A third-person shooter powered by Unreal Engine 3, Desert Zombie puts you in control of a tough guy, charged with mowing down waves of progressively difficult monsters using a host of weapons, including stationary turrets. What makes the game so entertaining is the sheer number of zombies on screen at once, the fact that you can reduce each one to a bloody pulp and the option to upgrade to more effective guns.
 It's a little buggy, but the carnage more than makes up for the game's deficiencies, so if you enjoy slaughtering hordes of creatures (even ones carrying AK-47s and bazookas) with high-powered rifles, Desert Zombie is one of the more underrated titles out there.
