Hello horror film fans, zombie fans, and film fans alike! And everyone and anyone else who just loves a good story. This is the director of "Escape from the Dead" here, and I want to introduce you to what we have going on with this project, and why we need some help with funds. I, myself, have been behind or in front of the cameras for more than twenty years, and have worked on three other feature length projects, which can be browsed here.
This campaign will allow us to complete a movie we started a few years ago, but never felt was strong enough to release. One of the primary things missing were realistic, grisly special makeup effects, and that is why we revived the project and are trying to put funds together. Getting these FX into the movie, along with some key pickup shots will help us get this to local theaters, and out on DVD and Video on Demand services.
How exactly will we be using funds raised? Well, quite simply, to get a talented makeup effects artist, and getting them the materials to create some on-screen gore and scares for the movie. What is in the movie so far ranges from bad to ok. We want to put it over the top with its special effects, to help tell a great story.
Quite simply put, funds raised, ANY funds raised, will be used to get a makeup effects person to our location, put them up, supply them with the materials needed to create the effects, and get them into the full movie.
Perks will be centered around copies of the movie on DVD, but posters, t-shirts, and perhaps even signed props are also being gathered to dole out to contributors.
Getting this movie completed and released is a giant accomplishment for us as movie makers, but we think it would also become a favorite amongst horror film fans and zombie film fans alike. We have recently released a comedy, which is getting set for its DVD release, after multiple showings at the local level. This was the follow up to a 25th anniversary retrospective (Also a comedy), which followed a pair of very successful live haunted house attractions (for charity), and a fairly popular, 90 minute fan film based on a horror series which garnered praise and compliments from around the world.
Remember that even those who cannot contribute money can help- especially by spreading the word! We plan to have a short video up in the next day or two, and hopefully that will show everyone some of what we have going on. Current run time of the movie is just under two hours, but with fantastic makeup FX, we think this movie is really going to turn some eyes on us, and we want to be able to say- we had help!
