Zombie film role up for auction (New Zealand)
The hunt is on for a zombie hero who will save a life on film and help raise funds for haemophiliacs.
As part of the Auckland pop-culture expo Armageddon, a zombie film that climaxes in a blood bath is being shot this Sunday with the largest zombie gathering New Zealand has ever seen - dubbed Zombiethon.
ZombieFX is looking for a ''keen zombie survivalist'' to play a heroic role in the final episode of the three-part film titled Zombiethon, The Path to Armageddon.
The first two episodes follow a group of survivalists living through the apocalypse, while conquering zombie obstacles on their way to the Armageddon expo.
The third will be shot on Sunday and the lead role is being auctioned on TradeMe with proceeds going to the New Zealand Haemophilia Foundation. The auction, which had reached $20 this morning, closes on Friday.
The auction winner gets free tickets to the Armageddon Expo Zombiethon and will be cast as the hero who saves "Gary" from an untimely brain-chewing.
Thirty artists, hundreds of instant prosthetics and bucket loads of fake blood stand ready to convert more than 500 expo fans into flesh hungry denizens of the undead for the movie.
The expo began in 1996 and more than 44,000 people attended last year.
An impressive line-up of celebrity guests will be there this year, ready to pose for photos with fans, including stars from iconic TV series and movies like True Blood and Tron. Stars of manga, anime and cartoon creation will also appear.
