Syracuse Snarl: Zombie fashion show prepares to invade Landmark Theatre

AMC's hit TV show "The Walking Dead" is currently on a midseason break until February, but in the meantime Central New Yorkers can see zombies in the flesh later this month.

Syracuse Snarl -- A Zombie Fashion Show will take the stage at the Landmark Theatre on Thursday, Dec. 20th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m. and an after-party will begin around 8:30 p.m.

Models -- both regular fashion models and zombie models that look like they just crawled out of a grave -- will be wearing clothing from local fashion designer Lisa Butler of Syracuse Style.

"There will be a couple of surprises as well," Butler told syracuse.com when asked if zombies might chase other models down the runway.

The event will be emceed by K-Rock's new morning show hosts, Hunter Scott and Josh Grosvent, who had their own surprise in October when they switched radio stations in the span of a week. Incidentally, they stepped down from their 95X shift by telling listeners they were "killed off by zombies."

Tickets are $10 for regular admission and $20 for VIP seats, available at the door or in advance by calling the Landmark Theatre box office at 315-475-7979 ext. 107.

The zombie fashion show is sponsored by Syracuse Style, Empire Brewing Co., Smoke Incorporated BBQ, Syracuse Zombie Research, Dougherty's Masquerade, Showoff's Boutique, Frightmare Farms, Kreepy Krafts, The Artful Obscure, and Modern Pop Culture.

The "evening of apocalyptic proportions" serves as a fundraiser for the theater and, since it's the night before the Mayans' predicted end of the world on Dec. 21, will also include information from the Red Cross on preparing for natural disasters and a possible zombie apocalypse. Hey, you never know.
