Originally published in 1987 from Arrow Comics, “Dead World” became a cult zombie hit. Most recently IDW published a new arc in the series, and “Dead World” is regaining popularity once again. The series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world (obviously), but the undead wanderers are just soldiers working for the intelligent and psychotic leader zombies who are looking to have a little fun with the last remaining humans. The leader of the zombies is none other than the badass, motorcycle-riding, King Zombie.
Filmmakers Scotty Fields and Mike Skvarla have put together a short film to pay homage to the insane comic that is “Dead World”. The short uses grotesque practical effects to bring King Zombie to life. Check it out below.
