Can you handle Zombie Puzzle Panic? (iPhone and iPad)

We've seen our fair share of match three games before, but Zombie Puzzle Panic, the latest from Noodlecake Studios, puts a fun new twist on the formula. You'll match up pieces that relate to the apocalypse (Army helmets, gasoline cans) while contending with zombies that wander onto the board and also completing other objectives. It's easy to get into and a lot of fun.
Don't let the undead get you down. These tips will have them dropping at your feet.

How do I play Zombie Puzzle Panic?

Think of it as Bejeweled with a cute little undead twist. Your main job is to complete objectives on the board, like doing away with slime-covered pieces or killing zombies by matching three items near them. You'll have a certain number of turns to get the job done, and the stages are easy enough, but later on, you'll really need to get your skills down to match up more than three pieces in a row and start chain reactions to wipe out the horde!

How do power-ups work in Zombie Puzzle Panic?

If you're aren't skilled enough to complete a certain puzzle in the game (and let's be honest, you will get stuck later on), you can use in-game currency earned throughout to purchase new goods, including sniper shots (to kill zombies getting in your way), grenades (to help with clearing parts of the board) and bodyguards (to protect you when you're running out of moves). You can also use real cash to purchase these items, but we'll cover that below.

What happens if I match up four pieces or more in Zombie Puzzle Panic?

When you match up four pieces, one of them will glow, and upon matching it up again, it'll either clear a coordinating row or column that it's connected to. We've seen match three games do this before, but this is an effective technique that'll help you clear the board and earn three stars per stage.
If you manage to line up five items, one will transform into a grenade. By connecting this with a nearby piece, you'll obliterate all similar pieces on the board, which in turn can create a score-bumping cascade in your favor.

Does Zombie Puzzle Panic support multiplayer?

While there is no direct multiplayer in the game, you can log in to your Facebook account and compare your top scores with others.

Do I need to pay for anything in Zombie Puzzle Panic?

The general game is free, and you receive some power-ups to see what they can do for you. However, if you want to stockpile them, you'll need to add additional currency with an in-game purchase, ranging from $0.99 to $9.99, depending on how many you need. See what the game does for you before making the investment.
