What are the Best States for Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse?

A real estate website called Estately has released the results of an actual study they conducted in order to determine in which state Americans are most likely to survive a zombie Apocalypse.
They weren't just guessing, either.
In their study, Estately used metrics that took various aspects of state demographics into account in order to determine how likely it is that the state's citizens would have their brains eaten during a hypothetical zombie apocalypse. The considerations included:
  • Number of active military personnel residing in the state.
  • The per-capita percentage of veterans residing in the state.
  • How physically active the state's residents are.
  • Percentage of gun owners in the state.
  • The State's Obesity rate. (If you can't outrun the zombies, they're going to get you.)
The study also included a few less scientific ways of determining zombie survival ability, including a Facebook sampling of the home states of individuals whose Facebook profiles list The Walking Dead as their favorite television shows.  The assumption being that the more zombie shows and movies you've seen the better prepared you are to fight them.
After exhaustive research that obviously could not have been spent doing something else, Estately concluded that the state in which you are most likely to survive a zombie attack is...........

ALASKA!!!
On its website, Estately explained why Alaska came out on top.
"In a state where residents run from bears and moose, they will not be scared of slow-moving corpses. Alaska is packed with military personnel and veterans, and they're only a fraction of the well-armed Alaskans prepared to shoot zombies from a moving snowmobile."
Other states in the top five: Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and New Mexico.
What state do you NOT want to be in when the zombies show up?
NEW JERSEY!
This is not simply due to the fact that local bridges may be shut down as a result of political retribution.
Estately explains:
"If the zombie apocalypse began today, and you live in The Garden State the odds are 100% that you've already been bitten and have become a zombie."
Washington, D.C., while not a state, was listed as the third worst place in the U.S. to live in the event of a zombie attack Largely due to the strict laws against gun ownership and lack of veterans living in the city.
