Running zombies to take over Potsdam, NY April 12!

“RunDead,” an untimed 5k fun run where participants run for their lives to escape the zombie apocalypse will be held April 12 at Clarkson University.
Runners will start off with a flag belt and three flags representing their lifelines. Zombies will be stationed throughout the course attempting to take these one at a time. Once a runner loses all three flags, they are “dead” and the zombies have won.
While the runner can still finish the race, they will not be eligible for awards. All runners who finish the race with a flag are eligible for prizes.
Runners can register in one of four flights – the competitive “Fast Food” group or the non-competitive “All You Can Eat” group.
Register online as an individual or a team in advance for $25 at www.therundead.org or sign up the day of the race for $30. Each runner will receive a t-shirt.
Those who do not wish to run have the option of registering to become a zombie. Each zombie will be transformed in the “Mob Tent” the morning of the event.
Register as an individual or a team in advance for $25 or $30 day of to join the mob.
Each zombie will receive their make-up transformation and a free t-shirt.
Proceeds benefit the Special Olympics.
Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. with the race flights starting at 10 a.m.
Organizers are still looking for sponsorship and volunteers. For more information, contact Erin McCartan at emccartan@nyso.org or 518-388-0790 ext. 107.
