KICKSTARTER PROJECT: Misfit Heights

"Misfit Heights" is a completed feature length film currently looking for distribution.  The funds from this kickstarter campaign will go to distributing, releasing, and marketing the film.  We are looking to create DVD's and release the film digitally on iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon VOD. Our goal of $5,000 will let us accomplish this.
Everyone who pledges to our campaign will be listed after the credits and stinger of the film.  Have your name listed on the digital download and DVD when it is released!
Check out below for more stretch goals.  We will be showing Misfit Heights at the 2013 Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo and have submitted the film to GenCon and San Diego International Comic-Con.  We would like to attend these festivals to promote our film, even if it is not accepted into their film festivals. The money will be used for travel and lodging, as well as promotional materials such as posters and handbills.
SYNOPSIS
This is the tale of Misfit Heights, an apartment building peopled by puppet tenants and their human superintendent, Bob. When Bob decides to go on vacation, Dr. Zoltar, the local mad scientist and ne'er-do-well, uses the opportunity to unleash one of his diabolical plans to take over the world! The plan to raise an army of the dead goes awry and soon the denizens of Misfit Heights are neck-deep in flesh-craving zombies! Joey, a bike messenger and all around good kid, is left in charge while Bob is gone and finally gets a date with his crush, Lisa, who really likes him back. The only problem is zombies are tearing the building apart from the foundation up, ruining their whole evening! Meanwhile, Tommy, the back-alley hobo, reluctantly decides he can't let Dr. Zoltar get away with these shenanigans and enters the fray. From the roof of Dr. Zoltar's maniacal laboratory to the underground dance party of the Tailgators, Misfit Heights is in for one killer night!

DISTRIBBER.COM
We've been researching several options to distribute our film digitally, and Distribber.com seems to be the best option at the moment.  As the campaign progresses, we will continue to research our options.  Unlike other digital distribution companies that take a percent of the profits, Distribber charges an upfront fee to submit a film to those distribution companies.
ITUNES
In order to release an independent film on itunes, we are required to go through one of their aggregators.  Distribber will act as this aggregator.
HULU
Distribber also gives us the option to send our film to Hulu.
AMAZON
We will also put the film on Amazon for digital download. We believe this will help Misfit Heights reach a broader audience if released on several outlets.  We may also use Amazon to sell physical DVD's.

PUPPET REWARDS
With about 80+ puppets in our film, we decided that some of them would make great rewards!  We were not able to make a normal and zombified version of each puppet, so once we were done filming with it we zombified them.  Only a few puppets survived our zombie invasion, so most of the puppets we have as rewards were torn, ripped, and converted to zombies after their horrifying death on screen.  Check out the pictures below and if you want one, donate the amount and select the reward.
Each puppet comes with a Certificate of Authenticity assuring that they were used on-screen during the filming of Misfit Heights. Each C.O.A. will have a screenshot showing the puppet, plus it will be signed by the creators James Burzelic and Daniel Grzeskowiak. But hurry, there's only one of each!
Cat Puppet - This kitty is from the Cat Lady's herd. In life, he was quite partial to Meowy Morsels. In death, biting the hand that fed him became his favorite.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES

As much as we want to release our film on every outlet and in every theater, we are at the whim of the distribution companies. If they don't think our film fits their company, they will not accept us. So, we have a back-up plan.
If iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon don't accept our film, we will put the money toward self distribution on our website both digitally and physically. We will attend more conventions and festivals, where we can sell and show our film.
We put a lot of work into "Misfit Heights", and it is time that we released for everyone to see!
