Norwegian horror comedy 'Dead Snow' certainly helped helped horror helmer Tommy Wirkola raise eyebrows and went a long way in securing him his latest US directorial debut effort 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters' with stars Jeremy Renner ('The Hurt Locker') and Gemma Arterton ('St Trinian's'). So it seems fitting that the filmmaker is hoping to revisit his roots and return for 'Dead Snow 2'. During an interview with Shock Till You Drop this past weekend Wirkola confirmed that a script for another helping of Nazi zombies was being cooked up. "I really want to do a sequel to Dead Snow and we have a script for it," Wirkola said. "I truly love it and I think it's better than the first film, but it's going to take a lot more money to pull off. So, we're going to go [into production] next winter, not this winter." The original was a hell of a lot of fun and if you haven't yet checked it out I suggest you do so!
Wirkola continues. "The first Dead Snow was split in two. The first half is a classical horror movie, the second half goes nuts. With Dead Snow 2, it starts right where the first film left off and is full throttle from beginning to end. Basically, the Nazi zombies decide to invade Northern Norway again, it's just crazy."
