Filipino Zombie Flick THE GRAVE BANDITS to Launch Transmedia Narrative Campaign

Manila-based production company Paper Boat Pictures is set to announce an innovative new marketing and storytelling campaign that will see their new film The Grave Bandits expand across a variety of formats between its world premiere at Metro Manila Film Festival next month and the film's on-demand video release in the spring of 2013.

The Grave Bandits is a zombie horror comedy about a couple of ne'er-do-well grave robbers who flee an incensed mob of villagers to a remote island, only to be faced with the greater threat of an army of the undead, spawned by a mad scientist's tinkering with a contaminated meteorite.

Paper Boat Pictures, founded by The Grave Bandits writer/director Tyrone Acierto and producer Vanessa Ulgado, has collaborated with Hong Kong-based production company, Haexagon Concepts, to develop a transmedia marketing campaign for the film that will not only nurture and develop word-of-mouth for the project across a number of different online and offline platforms, but actually further expand the film's narrative.

"Transmedia is all about interactive communal experiences, and we want to give something back to the communities that supported this project, as well as celebrate the local film culture," says Haexagon CEO/Co-founder Marco Sparmberg.

The producers have released a promising-looking teaser for the film, which you can check out here, as well as some cool poster art.
